You have enough obstacles standing in the way of getting your ex back, without adding to them yourself and making everything harder. Unfortunately, that's what a lot of people end up doing in the chaotic and senseless time right after a breakup, and the most common instrument of their self-destruction is known as Text-Message Terrorism.
TMT affects more otherwise salvageable relationships than just about any other breakup mistake I've ever seen. Letting this happen to you can make it all but impossible to resolve your problems, because it'll often result in your ex cutting ties with you so that it's nearly impossible to get a hold of her again to start rebuilding. So what is TMT, and why is it so bad?
To put it simply, Text Message Terrorism is basically just communicating with your ex, usually through some kind of electronic means. Emails, IM's, Voicemail, and of course the text messages it's named for...all of these are avenues through which you can commit Text Message Terrorism. So what's wrong with communicating with your ex? Aside from providing openings for you to say the wrong things and make it worse, nothing...the difference between simple communication and TMT is HOW MUCH you contact your ex.
TMT becomes a problem when you send your ex so many messages, so frequently, that she just gets sick of you. A lot of the time she'll block your number or address, and getting a hold of her once things have settled down will end up being incredibly difficult. A lot of the time TMT can be recovered from if it's caught and stopped in time, but the best way to make sure you don't make things harder for yourself later is to have caution NOW.
